How Dosirak got here
Release by release, from the first commit in September to the Microsoft Store.
Dosirak 0.1.1
Two fixes found the day after the launch, both on Windows.
- New project keeps the .dosirak extension when the Windows save dialog drops it
- The app and the MCP sidecar agree on one connection file inside the package, so configured clients find it
Dosirak 0.1.0 in the Microsoft Store
The first public release. A project is a folder you name and put where you want, and everything in it stays on your disk.
- Tables, fields, and relationships, with text, number, date, choice, image, formula, and aggregate fields
- Forms laid out in chambers, regions, and columns, with portals over related records
- Lists and grids with their own columns, sorting, and search
- Print layouts with bands, built from the same tables
- An embedded MCP server, with rules per table and per field and approvals you review in the app
- Paid once at $24.49 once, with a 15-day free trial from the Store
Controls you can feel
The last pass before the launch went into the way the app handles.
- Buttons sit raised, fields sink in, and both answer a press
- Build, Design, and Run became one selector switch
- One found set per table, Show All Records on Mod+J, and a record choice at print time
- Print opens the layout straight from a form
- One table now holds every menu shortcut
Paid up front, and ready for a second language
The licensing question got settled by deleting code instead of adding it.
- The in-app trial and the read-only gate came out: no in-app purchase and no license key. The Microsoft Store runs the Windows trial instead
- UI strings moved into a message catalog, so a second language is a translation and not a rewrite
- The Unique field setting came out, along with the rest of field validation
The form grows up
Layout work: what a form can hold and how a list behaves while you work in it.
- Page chambers set the form layout
- The search bar docks on a list layout
- Column headers and picture crop for lists and portals
- The record pager turns at once instead of lagging
- Dosirak reopens the project you had open where you left it
Calculations and undo
Fields that compute themselves, and a way back from every change.
- Formula and aggregate fields, with a calculation editor and a formula checker
- Undo and redo across records, layout changes, and field settings
- Serial fields, lookup paths, and number formatting in Run
- Keyboard navigation through the Build field list
The agent side, early
MCP went in five days after the first commit, so the app and the agent have always called the same kernel.
- The whole Build workspace exposed through MCP
- Durable approval requests, with a page for pending and approved calls
- Setup pages per client
- Image fields, tab regions, and portal rows that open in the related form
First commit
Project lifecycle before anything else: create a project, open a project, name it, and put it where you want.
- A .dosirak project folder with its schema, views, and database inside
- The file menu and the native save and open dialogs
- The visual tokens the rest of the app is built from
